More Information;

1) Eden Hall Wines 2015 Block 4 Shiraz

Selected from a premium parcel of Shiraz fruit to showcase the best of the Eden Hall site. The vineyard rows are established north to south to maximise quality under the management of Viticulturist Dan Falkenberg (Barossa’s 2019 Viticulturist of the year). The vineyard site rests over fractured rock and sandy loam on a deep clay base.

The wine displays refined silky tannins with rich dark red berry fruits, notes of liquorice, chocolate and spiced pepper.

 2) Chaffey Bros Wine Co. 2015 Elijah Shiraz

Located in the northern end of the Barossa, is the Elijah Shiraz vineyard. Noted as the top end of town in red wine production, these Shiraz grapes grow in heavy clay soil with no irrigation and survive on low annual rainfall.

The wine is majestic! Striking blue fruits with a silky foundation of dark chocolate notes, Chinese five spice, soy sauce and a abundance of concentrated fruit that lingers.

 3) Sorby Adams 2015 The Reverend Canon Shiraz & Cabernet Blend

The wine is named in honour of Simon's great uncle; The Reverend Canon, who was a minister at St. Hugh’s Church in the town of Angaston (1956 – 1960) Barossa.

Just like the Reverend Canon, the wine embraces strength and power with intense deep red colour and purple hues. A rich complex palate of dark berries, seasoned oak and Morello cherry notes. Cellaring will only bless this great wine, if one has the patience!

4) Poonawatta 2015 Four Corners Shiraz

The Four Corners Shiraz is a collection of four outstanding vineyards across the Eden Valley region; also known as Barossa’s high country. Showcasing a region within the region, has delivered a wine with depth and complexity.

The four corners is concentrated with noted blue and blackberry fruits, lifted spice and nutmeg is obvious. Hints of French oak are compelling.

5) Forbes & Forbes 2014 Alexander Murray Blend

An unusual year to have all three red wine varieties ripen at once; Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot & Cabernet Franc. This uncommon red wine blend has long been a favourite for many Forbes fans. With the depth of colour, the fresh minty nose, along with Christmas spices, dark chocolate, seasoned oak and delightful ripe sweet fruits to savour.

This wine is alluring and invites conversation. Highly recommend for those seeking something different from the Barossa.

6) Riley’s of Eden Valley 2016 Eden Valley Merlot

Merlot is an excellent red wine variety to grow in the high country of the Barossa. The warm days lead into cool, breezy evenings. The sandy loam soil allows for ideal drainage and a deep layer of red clay sustains moisture when the vines require replenishment.

The wine delivers obvious intensity and power to match the deep red colour and concentrated fruity nose. Minerals intertwine with raspberry, satsuma plum, Morello cherry, coffee beans and dark coverture chocolate.

Youthful and enjoyable but so worth collecting a few for the cellar.
