Barossa Valley Roussanne
Vineyard: Single estate vineyard.
Season: Exceptional quality was achieved from the 2019 vintage but extremely limited quantities produced; due to the lower than average rainfall recordings. Frost disrupted the first vine buds in spring and throughout flowering which again reduced overall wine grape supply. The dry ripening season through summer kept disease pressure to a minimum and cooler high country breezes allowed the grapes to ripen for a vintage of premium quality.
Winemaking: Whole bunches were carefully hand picked in the cool evenings and early mornings before small batches were gently crushed to capture the free run juice. The extracted juice was transferred into stainless steel tanks and bottled a few months later.
Appearance: Pale straw.
Aroma/Bouquet: An alluring bouquet of honeysuckle, lantana, guava, nuts and fresh flowers.
Palate: Initially the palate captures a delicate texture with gentle acidity. An abundance of summer stone fruits with Nashi pear and white peach, combining the gentle flavours of toasted nuts, honey and hints of ginger. This is a refreshing white wine which will develop an oily and mouth watering texture with bottle age.
Food Pairing: Enjoy with dumplings, spicy cuisine or South Australian King George Whiting.
Residual Sugar: NA
Cellar potential: Now - 5+ years
