Barossa - Eden Valley Riesling
Vineyard: A selection of Eden Valley Riesling grapes have been sourced within the region.
Season: Exceptional quality was achieved from the 2019 vintage but extremely limited quantities produced; due to the lower than average rainfall recordings. Frost disrupted the first vine buds in spring and throughout flowering which again reduced overall wine grape supply. The dry ripening season through summer kept disease pressure to a minimum and cooler high country breezes allowed the grapes to ripen for a vintage of premium quality.
Wine making: The parcels of wine grapes were cold fermented in a stainless steel to preserve purity of fruit before bottled with a minimal addition of sulphur dioxide.
Appearance: Clean and clear with a touch of a green hue.
Aroma/Bouquet: Floral, lemon/lime and Lychee aromas.
Palate: Granny Smith apple with lime and orange blossom notes on the palate. Crunchy, refreshing acidity is held taut with mineral backbone.
Food Pairing: Fresh seafood, Coffin Bay Oysters, Thai Green Curry and just enjoy a glass chilled as desired.
Acidity: 1.7 g/L
Residual Sugar: 1.7 g/L
Vegan Friendly: Yes
Cellar potential: 15+ years
Winemaker: Daniel Hartwig & Theo Engela
